The lines of
this triangle are breaking
The bond of
the union shaking
The hearts
of the people hating
Aching with
too much faking
Fear now
lives in Nigeria
Its intrepid
steps sound in every area
Seen in the
eyes of little boys
Little boys
fearful of boko’s toys
Boko’s guns,
boko’s bombs
Turning
every land space to tombs
O, this land
of our fore-fathers
All around,
our green past’s dying fast
We blemish
the sacrifices of our heroes past
Their
children are left to die on the streets, ignored
Mothers
spread legs for food, pain inured
Daughters
establish enterprises around their waists
And the
precious point becomes peanut for all to taste
Third legs
linger through flesh and blood
And the girls
wriggle; take the juices and scream ‘O God’
And when
they die, the overfeds call them names
Ashewo,
olonsho, but who takes the blames
O, this land
of our fore-fathers
This is not
the land, the land of our fore-fathers
